ROBOTICON 2018

This past weekend, our robotics team, the ILLUMICATS, traveled all the way to Tampa Bay to compete in the annual robotics pre-season competition, Roboticon. Hosted by USF at the Yeungling Center, 31 teams came together and battled it out using robots built in the previous season.

This event is a great opportunity for practice for the upcoming 2019 FIRST Robotics season. New members can get a taste of competition day and experience the rush of the game. Roboticon also has workshops for students who want to learn more about robotics.

The team had fun playing matches with other teams and made it as far as the quarterfinals before unfortunately losing.

Hang in there Savannah!

Even so, the students enjoyed their time and even got to play human player matches. This is a match where the robots are replaced by human beings and the game is played as per usual.

Overall, team 3242 had a wonderful experience and is ready for the upcoming season!
